First Generation

This is as far back as I have got my great X3 granddad Joseph. (The one with the flat cap)

1. Joseph SHALLCROSS [scrapbook] ¹ was born 1 Nov 1789 and obtained a marriage license 15 Feb 1811 in Biddulph Parish Church Staffordshire.

2. He died 18 Nov 1839 in 9 Bradley Green Biddulph Staffordshire and was buried 21 Nov 1839 in Biddulph Parish Church Staffordshire. Initially as you can see he worked on the land and eventually owned a few acres of land. Late as was the fate of many from these times, due to mechanisation of farm implements they were put out of work. He then went to work in the coal mining industry

3. The Shallcross name could have easily changed here with poor writing from SHAWCROSS which in flowery writing the W can look like two L’s

Joseph married ¹ Martha MOSS ¹. They had the following children:

	3	F	ii	Mary SHALLCROSS^1 was born 25 Aug 1816.
	4	F	iii	Elizabeth SHALLCROSS^1 was born 26 Jan 1823 in Biddulph Staffordshire.
+	5	M	iv	Joseph SHALLCROSS was born 10 July 1825 and died 1 January 1900.
+	6	M	v	George SHALLCROSS (SHAWCROSS) was born 14 Oct 1827 and died 21 Jul 1902.
+	7	F	vi	Ann SHALLCROSS was born 15 Nov 1828.
+	8	M	vii	Jonathon SHALLCROSS was born 12 Apr 1829 and died 27 Oct 1900.
